Ad-hoc photographic retrieval task 2006

Search tasks (visual ad-hoc topics)

These 30 topics offer the chance to compare purely visual retrieval on searches which are considered more "visual" (as opposed to semantic). We have selected a sample of example topics from the set of standard ad-hoc topics and adapted these to generate more visual queries, e.g. removed geographic references from queries to generalise them. The format of the topics is the same as for the standard ad-hoc topics (but please note that topic numbers do not run sequentially from 1-30).

With each topic, we also provide three example relevant images and a text title and narrative description of relevant and irrelevant images. Please note that only the images should be used for retrieval.

Results should be submitted as described on the ImageCLEFphoto page.
